George Kistiakowsky
George Kistiakowsky (Heorhii Kistiakivskyi; 18 November 1900, Kyiv — 7 December 1982, Cambridge, Massachusetts) was a chemist, son of the sociologist Bohdan Kistiakivskyi. After emigrating he worked at Harvard. In the Manhattan Project he headed the explosives division at Los Alamos, which developed the explosive lenses for the implosion atomic bomb. He later served as science adviser to President Dwight Eisenhower.Collection5
