Halyna Mazepa
The daughter of Isaak Mazepa, head of the UNR government, who became a Venezuelan artist. Her life divides into four countries: Ukraine 1915–1923, Czechoslovakia 1923–1944, Germany 1944–1948, Venezuela 1948–1995.
In Caracas from 1948 she worked for the film company Bolívar Films making animation — a rare case of a Ukrainian artist helping build another country's film industry. She trained in Prague, at the Ukrainian Studio of Plastic Arts and the Academy of Arts.
