Ivan Kulets
Ivan Kulets (Czech: Jan Kulec, 1880–1952) was a Ukrainian painter and teacher from Galicia who spent most of his creative life in Prague. After the First World War he learned that his family home had been destroyed, and he stayed in Czechoslovakia. He lived in the Královské Vinohrady district of Prague. Kulets taught at the Ukrainian Studio of Plastic Arts, a Ukrainian art school in Prague that trained young artists from the emigration. In 1932 the studio was registered in his name. Many Ukrainian artists of interwar Prague studied there. Kulets painted portraits, genre scenes and landscapes. He died in Prague on 11 March 1952 and is buried at the Vinohrady Cemetery. His exact birthplace and education need verification in the sources.Collection5
