Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi
Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi (Mikhail Ostrogradsky; 1801, Pashenna in the Poltava region — 1862, Poltava) was a mathematician and mechanician. He is the author of the Ostrogradsky–Gauss (divergence) theorem, which relates the flux of a vector field through a closed surface to its divergence within the volume — a basic tool of electrodynamics and fluid dynamics.Collection1
