Tarantino was inspired by literature of Volodymyr-Giorgio Shcherbanenko
His father was killed in Kyiv by the Bolsheviks while he was defending the city together with volunteers. Giorgio converted the shock he received from what he saw in Ukraine as a child into literary masterpieces in the detective genre.
